The AC-5VX provides a reliable power source which is essential for times when you are downloading large volumes of images and don't want the battery to be exhausted.

Keep your camera powered when downloading images or updating camera firmware. The AC adapter is recommended as an option for providing a constant power source when downloading pictures from the camera to a computer. Battery power can potentially fail during downloading which could cause loss of data. Cameras without a direct power input capability will require a DC Coupler (available separately) for connecting to the AC-5VX power supply. Please check your camera specifications for the appropriate coupler. To connect to the power supply the coupler is inserted in to the camera battery compartment then simply connected to the AC-5VX jack plug.
