Recording distant sounds with a camera-mounted or built-in microphone can be a challenge. But with remote capabilities in the ME-W1, you can effortlessly capture clear, crisp sounds up to approximately 50 metres away*2. This enables you to record audio details such as the laughter of your child on a bike or a keynote speech at an international conference. You can even simultaneously capture sounds from both the microphone and receiver for a fuller sound mix, allowing you to communicate with your subject as you record videos.
All you have to do is attach an ME-1 Stereo Microphone to the remote unit and you can start recording in stereo. Ideal for capturing the best moments at a live concert or of animals in their natural habitat, you can now enrich your videos with sounds that are superior and more authentic.

Bluetooth® Power Class 1 compatibility allows clear sound recording from a distant subject up to approx. 50 m (164 ft) away*2, something that is difficult to achieve with camera-mounted or built-in microphones. The ME-W1 is useful for recording a speaker’s voice clearly during a presentation, or for capturing the voice of a remote subject who is moving around.

JIS/IEC Class 5 (IPX 5) water-resistant* design means that the ME-W1 is reliable enough for outdoor usage, including situations where the microphone unit may be subject to water splash or rain.

ME-W1 lets you record sounds from both the microphone and receiver, delivering a mix of the photographer and subject’s voices. Also, connecting third-party headphones or earphones to each unit allow conversation between the photographer and subject in between shooting.
Stereo sound input is also possible by attaching an ME-1 Stereo Microphone to the microphone unit*, for rich sound recording of wildlife with ambient sounds, or at live concerts, etc.
*Stereo sound recording is not possible if the ME-1 is attached to the external microphone connector on the receiver.
