The M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO makes lavish use of special lens elements to suppress spherical aberration and comatic aberration that can affect resolving power. These elements also suppress colour bleeding due to on-axis chromatic aberration, which tends to cause image quality issues on fast, large-diameter lenses. This construction enhances resolution from maximum aperture and faithfully communicates textures of subjects in the photograph.

Lavish use of special lens elements
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO is a fast single–focal-length lens that delivers the ultimate in resolving power and beautiful bokeh. The lens consists of 19 elements in 14 groups, including 1 Super ED lens and 2 ED lenses. The lenses help suppress unfocused colour bleeding (on-axis chromatic aberration) common to large-diameter lenses. Combined with the colour-cancelling effects of an E-HR lens and HR lens joined together, peripheral image colour bleeding (magnification chromatic aberration) is effectively corrected. By placing aspherical lenses near the aperture and using multiple HR lenses, spherical aberration and comatic aberration common to fast lenses are effectively corrected. This creates smooth, natural bokeh and an accurate depiction of points even from the maximum aperture of f/1.2, resulting in excellent image quality.

Beautiful images with minimal colour bleeding

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO suppresses colour bleeding often caused by on-axis chromatic aberration, for beautiful images.

The most beautiful bokeh
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO features a design that gives consideration to aberrations in the focused areas as well as aberrations and shapes of objects in the defocused areas, achieving a smooth transition from the focused to the out of focus.  Combined with the high resolution of the focused areas delivered at maximum aperture, a natural three-dimensional feel is realised.

Quick and accurate focus point capture
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO uses an inner focusing system to drive AF with a single lens. This method suppresses aberration variations caused by focusing. Focusing is also quick, accurate, silent and smooth.
1. Focusing mechanism
When combined with Eye Detection AF available on Olympus interchangeable lens cameras, focusing on eyes is accurate even at maximum aperture.
Limits comatic aberration to depict points clearly as points
The optical performance of the lenses thoroughly removes comatic aberrations that occur around the periphery of the image. Points of light are clearly depicted as points, providing for sharp, beautiful starscape photography even at maximum aperture.

Z Coating Nano lens coating for clear image quality

The new Z Coating Nano technology is used on this lens for thoroughly suppressing ghosts and flares, providing the photographer with sharp, clear image quality. By coating the lens surface with a layer of nanoscale size particles filled with air, a coating layer with a refractive index similar to air is achieved for reduced surface reflection.

Renowned quality and operability of the PRO series
The Olympus PRO lens series features both superb design and controls.
Elegant design
The exterior of the M.Zuiko Digital ED 25mm F1.2 PRO provides a premium feel only a metal body can provide.

Superb controls

1. Manual Focus Clutch mechanism
2. L-Fn button
Manual Focus Clutch mechanism
The MF (manual focus) Clutch provides instant switching between auto and manual focusing. Simply pull the focus ring toward you to switch from autofocus to manual focus to shoot at your desired focus distance.
L-Fn button
On the lens barrel is a customisable button to which a function of your choice can be assigned, via the camera. Once assigned, a simple push of this button will activate and deactivate your function of choice.
Shoot close-ups 19.5 cm from the end of the lens
This model maintains the close-up shooting abilities of the PRO lens series. It has a 19.5 cm working distance and a closest focusing distance of 30 cm.
