The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TF1 Digital Camera is a highly durable compact point-and-shoot camera featuring a 16.1MP 1/2.3" Super HAD CCD image sensor for producing high resolution still imagery and HD 720p video. This sensor is benefitted by the inclusion of a 4x optical zoom lens, giving a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 25-100mm. For shooting in low-lit conditions and when working at longer zoom magnifications, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to counter the effects of camera shake.
Where this camera truly excels is through its ability to perform in cold or wet conditions, or its durability to withstand drops and harsh elements. The TF1 is waterproof to a depth rating of 33' / 10.1m; shockproof to protect the camera from falls up to 5' / 1.5m high; freezeproof to temperatures as low as 14°F / -10°C; and dustproof to ensure the inner-components remain fully-function in generally rough conditions.
For monitoring and playback of images, and for navigating the menu system, a 2.7" 460k-dot Clear Photo LCD is available and offers five brightness steps to aid in viewing in bright conditions. There are also a host of camera effects to further refine the appearance of your imagery including Picture Effects, Beauty Effects, Face Detection and Smile Shutter, 360° Sweep Panorama, iAuto, and Advanced Flash.
