The Safari 8x30 Pro is a wonderful all-purpose outdoor companion, and is Steiner's 'entry level' porro prism binocular. However, what constitutes as entry-level from this German manufacturer could qualify as a premium optic from others.

With improved ergonomics, the 8x30 Safari Pro is pleasant to handle and view with for longer time periods. Thanks to its 6.9� viewing angle and pronounced depth of field, it is a perfect choice for use at outdoor sporting events, concerts, and general landscape viewing. Steiner's 8x30 Safari Pro has their Sports Auto Focus system, which once set to the user's individual eyesight allows observations from 60' (18.3 m) to infinity without the need for readjustments.

Despite its bright optics, the 8x30 Safari Pro weighs just 18 ounces and is small and light enough to travel easily.

Steiner's definition of 'waterproof' is the most stringent in the business. Though they don't define the Safaris as 'waterproof', they are guaranteed to withstand both bombardment from water jets at multiple angles for five minutes without leaking and a 30�F temperature change without internal fogging.
