The Velbon GEO E530 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod features lightweight, sturdy legs that are actually composed of a carbon fiber and basalt composite. This hybrid material affords greater strength and rigidity for supporting DSLR cameras outfitted with heavier telephoto lenses. The legs of the E530 feature quick-lever locks and a spiral-etched surface that makes their retraction and extension smoother and faster. For shooting on rough terrain, each leg hides a spike. This emerges by twisting and retracting the rubber foot, which is ideal for smooth, slippery surfaces.
