The highly compact and lightweight XA50 offers high-quality 4K UHD image with beneficial features such as Dual Pixel CMOS AF, Canon 15x optical zoom lens and advanced Full HD image quality driven by utilising outstanding Over Sampling HD Processing.

The Canon XA50 Professional UHD 4K Camcorder is a lightweight and compact camera featuring UHD 4K capture, a 1" CMOS sensor, two XLR audio inputs ad one mini-HDMI output which fits right into the ENG category for documentary or journalism-style productions.

The XA50's optics include an integrated 15x HD optical zoom and a nine-bladed circular iris to give you more natural highlights and wide DR gamma support for recording in the low-light recording. The camera's pro-style features include Dual Pixel and Contrast autofocus as well as fast and slow motion. It also features full manual control, optical and electronic image stabilisation, a 3" touchscreen LCD, user-assignable buttons, infrared mode and a DIGIC DV 6 image processor with high sensitivity and low noise. The XA50 also has display monitoring features such as zebra, colour bars and test tone and a built-in neutral density filter mechanism offering ND4, ND16 and ND64 options.

This camera records UHD 4K30 and Full HD 1080p60 captured to dual SD card slots and outputs to a mini-HDMI port. The dual Sd card slots allow for automatic switching from one card to another, as well as simultaneous recording to both. The camera can output up to 1920 x 1080p 10-bit 4:2:2 video at 59.94fos via its mini-HDMI output. On the audio side, the XA50 features up to four channels of LPCM audio with manual/automatic recording levels, two XLR inputs with phantom power and a 3.5mm stereo mini input. It features a built-in stereo microphone as well as a headphone jack.

1.0-Type CMOS Sensor

The camera has a large CMOS sensor to give beautiful Bokeh with high sensitivity and low noise. The camera also benefits from enhanced Full HD image quality with Over Sampling HD processing, whilst the Wide DR setting allows you a wide dynamic range to be captured.

High Quality 4K 15x Zoom Lens

The camera allows you to optimise the quality of your images with an ultra-wide 25.5mm 4K 15x optical zoom with Super HD lens elements to minimise chromatic aberrations. There is an advanced 5-axis image stabilisation to cope with filming on the move or when shooting handheld.

Fast and Precise Dual Pixel CMOS AF

This camera incorporates Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and accurate autofocusing in approximately 80% (vertically and horizontally) of the sensor. Face detection AF and Touch tracking operation enables seamless focus control for intuitive operation. Also, a Dual Pixel Focus Guide provides a graphical interface to aid manual focusing.
