Engineered with built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and advanced image and video-making options, the camera’s lightweight yet durable body makes it a preferred choice for photography and videography enthusiasts.”

Whether you are snapping exquisite, jewel-like portraits of the glorious wonders of nature or you are capturing your life story through a shutter, the Z 50’s ergonomic design enables users to capture images at any point in time and at any location. This newly designed camera comes with a larger dial placed on the exterior of the camera which revives its look and retains its authenticity as a camera. Its compact upper grip shape has been designed for a firm grasp and allows the index finger to naturally reach the shutter-release button when the user holds the camera. For additional ease and convenience, all necessary buttons and dials are placed on the right side of the camera body.

Make it bright
Enter a new era of image quality with the Z 50. Featuring a new CMOS sensor and image-processing engine, and a whole suite of new features, the Z 50 with its effective pixel count of 20.88 megapixels delivers remarkable colour, clarity and sharpness. Adopting the same hybrid autofocus (AF) system as the Z 7 and the Z 6, the Z 50 comes equipped with one of the first Nikon CMOS sensors that incorporate phase-detection AF.

The eyes have always been quite a defining feature for many. With the help of the Z 50, you can capture the depth of your subject’s eyes with precision and ease in portrait photos. The camera is equipped with eye-detection AF which can be toggled to have the focus effectively centred to the eye or face of the subject. This enables users to achieve focus on the intended subject’s eye, even if the subject moves. Intuitive selection of an intended subject’s eye is possible, even when multiple human subjects are within the frame.

Taking advantage of the new EXPEED 6 image-processing engine, the Z 50 achieves a standard sensitivity range of ISO 100-51200, reducing noise effectively even at the higher end while maintaining resolution. Being in the dark is not a hindrance with a low-light AF performance down to -4 EV1 while capturing live-action is made easy with 11fps2 high-speed continuous shooting.

Broaden your expressions and infuse your own style. Creators can also shoot with the camera’s extensive functions such as Creative Picture Control, Scene modes and Special Effects, even while checking the resulting image through the monitor or EVF. Effects can be applied to both still images and videos, enabling users to easily express the exact vision they have in their mind, according to the situation.

Be in control
For the selfies and group photos, or even videos, the Nikon Z 50 features a tilting 3.2 inch, 1040k-dot monitor, enabling smoother operation through easy touch controls that are similar to using a smart device.

With this camera, changing the settings is effortless and does not require going into the deeper menu layer. By accessing the i menu, users have instant access to the settings should you want to change according to the shooting situation. Pressing the i button also provides quick access to the menu on the monitor or EVF, letting you change the settings instantly. This camera also features optical precision with an electronic viewfinder (EVF) beautifully crafted to perfection.

Perfect for capturing special moments such as wedding ceremonies and theatre performances, the Z 50 also prides its silent photography feature that is employed on a Nikon DX-format model for the first time. When the exposure smoothing function is employed with a silent interval timer or silent time-lapse photography, the low-light metering range is significantly extended. This means that transitions from starry night to dawn or from sunset to a starry night can be shot in one sequence while maintaining optimal exposure using aperture-priority auto which is impossible with manual exposure mode.

Tell your story in motion
Creative photography enthusiasts and filmmakers alike will appreciate this camera’s wide array of movie functions, including full-pixel readout with no crop in 4K UHD, Full HD 120p with audio as well as in-camera slow-motion movie creation. Users can also select the Creative Picture Control option and record videos according to their artistic intentions.

Additionally, the Z 50 employs time-lapse and interval timer photography. 4K UHD and Full HD time-lapse footage can be produced within the camera. Its interval timer photography function makes it easier to add dynamic movements such as pan and zoom effects when creating time-lapse video in a smaller size.

On-the-spot Connectivity
Excellent for always-on artistic users, the Z 50 is equipped with in-built Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® for SnapBridge 2.6, enabling users to instantly share their snapshots on social media. This allows creators to easily transfer images and movies, utilise location and date information, browse for images from a smartphone, add credit information, automatic image upload to Nikon Image Space, and even shoot remotely.

The camera is compatible and was engineered alongside two dedicated NIKKOR Z lenses, the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR and NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR, both featuring superior optical performance and agility designed to transform ordinary scenes, travel and landscapes into creative works. Together with the Z 50, they form a complete kit for users.
