A medium ballhead with an incorporated quick release, the Slik Pro 800 Ballhead is their only model featuring tension control and can be reliable used with medium format cameras with standard lenses and digital SLRs with most telephoto lenses smaller than a 300mm f/2.8 or the like.

Employing an identical quick release system as the fine Pro 700 DX tripod head, the Slik Pro 800 Ballhead has amongst the fastest and easiest attachment/detachment in the industry. Slik chose a circular quick release plate to allow you to secure the camera to the tripod with the camera pointing in any direction. This is far more intuitive than plate systems with squared off or angled plates, though the plate's a bit larger than most(56 x 13 mm and 2.5 ounces). A plate with a 3/8&quot-16 threaded camera screw is also available.
