The wireless receiver of the URX-P03 can be attached to camcorders or interchangeable-lens cameras that have an MI (Multi-Interface) shoe using the MI shoe adapter SMAD-P3. the eliminates the need for connecting cables. By using the MI shoe adapter, audio signals can be transmitted from the wireless receiver to a camera. In addition, the wireless receiver can get power from the camera and the camera can control power ON/OFF, unifying power management. 

The SMAD-P3 is applicable to XDCAM Camcorder PXW-X70, PXW-X160, PXW-X180, PXW-X280, PXW-X200*, PXW-FS7 and PXW-FS5, α6000/ α6300*2, Handycam HXR-MC2500, FDR-AX100*2, NEX-VG900*2 & NEX-VG30*2, plus interchangeable lens digital camera α7*2/ α7R*2/ α7S*2/ α99*2, α7 Mark?*2 / α7R Mark?*2 / α7S Mark?*2 and Cyber-shot DSC-RX10*2 (as of February 2016). 

* PXW-X200 firmware should be upgraded to Ver.2.00 or later for using SMAD-P3. 

*2 When using with these specific camera models, the power supply function and power ON/OFF control function will not be available. Insert new AA alkaline batteries in the receiver and set the receiver’s power select (POWER SEL) menu item to BATTERY mode. When the remaining battery indicator reaches one segment or less, insert new batteries immediately to avoid unexpected shutdown of the camera or data loss.

No need for separate XLR cable

Using an MI Shoe connection, the audio signal from a UWP-D11 or UWP-D12 wireless microphone package can be input from the wireless microphone receiver to the camera without an XLR cable.

Power can be supplied by camera

Power can be switched on and off from the camera/camcorder.
